By Saleh Sikandar After HP Pakistan, it is now Nokia that has decided to rely on spam emails in Pakistan to support its OVI store. Those who may suggest that this newsletter was sent by Nokia Ovi Store to its subscribers only, then you are wrong here, as email is clearly sent from emailshot@directmarketingpakistan.com, while directmarketingpakistan.com is apparently an email marketing/spamming company. It is strange that multinational companies like Nokia are getting this much desperate that they start using illegal and unethical ways to promote their products and services. Social Networks Trounce Email in Study

Social networks were the big winners in a new a Nielsen study of how American consumers use the Internet. Compared to a year ago, the use of social networks like Facebook and Twitter rose 43 percent to account for 22.7 percent of the time people said they spend online. Online gaming jumped into second place at 10.2 percent, up from 9.3 percent a year ago. Time spent using email services dipped from a year ago to 8.3, a 28 percent drop from 2009 when email came in at 11.5 percent. Adobe Flavors Online Marketing Suite with Social Media Features

This week, Adobe announced the addition of some interesting social media features to their Online Marketing Suite. Among them: advanced bid strategies for Facebook ads, and image ad support for the Google Content Network. Oh Yeah, Omniture Remember when Adobe acquired Omniture? Probably. IBM Builds Search Engine, Redefines Analytics Tools

By Laurie Sullivan IBM has created a search tool that allows North Carolina State University to crawl through massive amounts of Web data on blogs, forums, reports, industry related news portals and government Web sites. Similar to a search engine bot, the query gathers data and produces a short list of potential investors for projects.
